PSA Blog #5
I am not very content with our draft. We didn't plan our shots out enough to meet the time limit necessary for the final draft. This will cause us to do a lot more filming to get shorter and more effective scenes. Also, we didn't even have time to film all of our scenes. But we have the camera reserved and feel we can get the footage necessary to make a strong final PSA.

Falling Polar Bears
I believe our group is doing everything possible with our topic to create an effective PSA. We are creating a message that will hopefully cause poeple to reflect by action. The action in this case is using stress balls or taking deep breaths to relieve stress and control anger. The visual and audio aspects of our video compliment each other well to deliver a strong message. We might want to change how to PSA ends a little to leave a stronger influence in the mind of our viewers. Our PSA will be effective because it's unique, it relates to our audience, and it will be well organized and edited.

PSA Blog #3
The most challenging part in my mind that our group faced was creating an idea that didn't make our video seem like a joke. The way our pitch went, our classmates didn't take us seriously and thought that our idea wasn't good at all. We felt that that also drew Alex and John's attention away from the message of our PSA and more towards the humor it created. However, they were able to give us good feedback to help us deliver a solid message with a slightly different plot. We decided it was best that we alter the scenes and characters that we originally had and make a more serious, persuasive video. This was pretty difficult but our group worked through it and developed an outline for what I feel will be an outstanding PSA.

PSA Blog #2
I thought that we gave a lot of energy and delivered our idea well. However, the way our scenes were shown made the class feel like it wasn't a serious topic. Since we chose anger management and are describing it in a physical way, it may have seemed funny to our classmates that someone is getting hurt in our video. However, anger management is a very serious problem and we feel our PSA will persuade people to control their anger. Our message is mainly of public interest as we are trying to reach out to people all over that have anger issues. Our target audience is teenagers, and because our video is composed of scenes of physical abuse, it will draw the viewer in and appeal to them.

PSA Blog #1
Public service announcements play the role in our media culture of informing people on important subjects and persuading people to believe in what they are advertising. Our group, like many others, thought of the usual PSA topics like drunk driving and texting and driving. Instead of doing the usual, we decided to pick a topic that had some uniqueness to it. So we chose anger management to be the general topic of our PSA. We will focus on anger and how it can negatively affect innocent people. Our video will consist of several acts of violence stemming from anger that escalate into extremely dangerous situations. Through our PSA will we hope to persuade people to control their stress and anger before something bad happens. I helped create the general idea of anger management and each situation that will occur in our video.

Effective Advertisement
A very effective ad campaign in my mind is the Amstel Light commercial campaign. It's efffective because of the catchy music and visually pleasing video footage. The way they construct their commercials make drinking the beer seem like a pleasureful experience. A lot of the time, good advertising plays a large role in what I buy, especially if they are food commericals.

MTN presentations
I have learned from the last two MTN presentations how to strongly critique a piece of media. They taught me all of the elements that are useful in making a good piece of media, including dialogue, camera angles, music, etc. I plan on using a scene from the movie Miracle as my clip for the visual communications critique. Media literacy is important because it allows people to make better judgements on the credibility of media.
